PROPERTY TAXES:
Property taxes are billed on July 1 and December 1 of each year. The July Summer Tax bill may be paid without penalty through September 14th and the December Winter Tax bill through February 14th, after which a penalty fee and interest are added. After February 28th, all delinquent real property taxes are paid at the Saginaw County Treasurers Office. All delinquent personal property taxes are to be paid at the Birch Run Township Office.

  * The last day to pay 2023 property taxes before they are returned as delinquent to the County is

     Tuesday, February 29, 2024. (MCL211.78a)

PAYMENT METHODS:

  • Click for Online payment or the link can be found at www.birchruntwp.com (a service fee will be applied).

  • Dropped into our secured & locked drop box in front of the Township building to the right of the office door.

  • Via USPS. Due to the mail delivery delays, we can no longer honor postmarks.

  • At the Township office Monday – Fridays except holidays. Cash, check or credit card (a service fee will be applied) payments accepted.  If paying by cash, please have the exact amount, or close to it.

    • Mondays – Fridays 9:00AM – 5:00PM except 12:00PM – 12:30PM for lunch

DOG LICENSES:
Dog licenses are available from December 1 to February 28 for Birch Run Township residents.  The price for male/female is $25.00; neutered or spayed is $12.00. A special senior citizen license fee is available for $5.00 for neutered or spayed dogs. The owner must show proof of a current rabies vaccination. After the February 28 deadline, dog licenses may be purchased from either the Saginaw County Treasurer or from a county veterinarian.  Please bring your form from Saginaw County if you received one.
